National Police Chief Discusses Security Measures with Prime Minister After Cambodia Visit

Bangkok: The national police chief met with the prime minister after returning from Cambodia and engaged in a nearly hour-long conversation.

According to Thai News Agency, the national police chief, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, disclosed that the meeting with the prime minister was not to report any specific issue but rather a general discussion.

The national police chief addressed concerns about a former high-ranking police officer allegedly involved in the theft of law exam papers from a renowned university. He stated that there was no significant development in this matter and had tasked the commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) with conducting a thorough investigation. The conversation with the prime minister focused on other topics.

Regarding security in the southern border provinces, the national police chief emphasized the need to enhance proactive monitoring and operations. He instructed Provincial Police Region 9 and the investigation division to collaborate with the military to address the issues arising from frequent bombings in the South.

Additionally, Pol. Gen. Kittirat mentioned that the upcoming meetings of the Royal Thai Police Commission (RTP) and the National Police Policy Commission (NPPC) will proceed without any special agenda.
