Bangkok: The National Police Chief has urged Mr. Atchariya Ruangrattanapong, president of the Crime Victim Assistance Club, to submit evidence related to scams through the correct channels and avoid actions that could disrupt public order or the Prime Minister’s duties. He emphasized the importance of not blocking traffic, which could impact the Prime Minister and the public, and reiterated the commitment to investigating and prosecuting those involved in scams.
According to Thai News Agency, National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panpetch addressed concerns regarding Mr. Atchariya’s plans to obstruct the path of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, to deliver crucial evidence about national scams. He stressed that any evidence should be submitted properly and warned against actions that might affect the Prime Minister’s responsibilities or public convenience. Pol. Gen. Kittirat assured that he is prepared to investigate any credible allegations without bias or delay.
He emphasized the importance of distinguishing individual misconduct from organizational integrity, cautioning against generalizing the entire police force, including forensic and border patrol divisions, which could be demoralizing. The Chief affirmed his dedication to addressing any wrongdoing within the organization, urging the public to provide information for thorough investigation.
In response to concerns about the impact of negative news reports on the Royal Thai Police’s stability, Pol. Gen. Kittirat stated that the agency remains steadfast in its duties. He encouraged his officers to maintain their diligence and commitment to their work, acknowledging that while individuals may express their feelings, the focus should remain on fulfilling their responsibilities.
