Bangkok: The National Sports Development Fund has signed a memorandum of understanding to support the "Domestic Power 2026" project. A press conference was held to announce the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) for support from the fund under the name "Domestic Power 2026: A Comprehensive and Integrated System for Promoting Potential Sports." Dr. Wanida Phansaaad, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, presided over the event. Also in attendance were Mr. Surasak Kerdchantuk, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) for Sports Promotion; Mr. Tanukiart Chanchum, Manager of the National Sports Development Fund; SAT executives; sports association executives; athlete representatives; and members of the media.

According to Thai News Agency, this collaboration represents a strategic integration between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand, and relevant sports associations to develop promising sports. In this fiscal year, the National Sports Development Fund has provided over 186 million baht in funding, covering sports such as football, badminton, taekwondo, e-sports, golf, volleyball, athletics, and basketball - sports with high international popularity and the potential to produce tangible results for the country.

The Domestic Power Project serves as a key mechanism for driving the national strategy for human resource development through sports. It establishes a comprehensive development system from upstream to downstream, encompassing both team and individual sports. The goal is to build a sports-oriented population, increasing equal access to sports, and establishing a step-by-step athlete development path through competitions ranging from grassroots to provincial, national, and ultimately professional levels.
