Bangkok: Nattawut Saikua, a campaign assistant for the Pheu Thai Party, has launched a strong critique against Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, accusing him of monopolizing national interests for political gain and creating division within society.
According to Thai News Agency, Nattawut criticized Anutin for allegedly listening only to his political mentor while disregarding broader national concerns. He questioned the involvement of a Cambodian minister in Anutin's campaign efforts, suggesting that it might be an attempt to influence votes.
During a speech, Nattawut urged voters in Phayao to support the Pheu Thai Party by casting two ballots for them. He addressed voters' hesitations linked to a former prisoner known as the "Captain," reassuring them of the party's integrity and commitment to beneficial policies. Nattawut emphasized his own history as a former convict, asserting his dedication to the people of Phayao and the policies offered by Pheu Thai.
Nattawut criticized Anutin's recent campaign rally at Lumpini Park, describing the Prime Minister's approach as nationalistic and exclusionary. He argued that political campaigns should focus on showcasing love for the country through clear policies rather than creating an "us versus them" narrative. He highlighted that no political party should foster hatred towards the nation as a strategy.
Furthermore, Nattawut accused Anutin of making sarcastic remarks targeting the Pheu Thai Party and its leaders, including former Prime Ministers Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Thaksin Shinawatra. He stressed the importance of national unity, especially on issues of sovereignty, and questioned Anutin's approach of alienating fellow citizens for political gain.
Nattawut also addressed statements linking Pheu Thai's political stance to foreign influence, specifically Cambodia. He refuted claims that Pheu Thai's actions were influenced by neighboring countries, emphasizing the party's longstanding commitment to Thailand's independence and sovereignty. Despite facing challenges, Nattawut affirmed that the Pheu Thai Party remains resolute in its dedication to the Thai people and its policies.
In his concluding remarks, Nattawut criticized Anutin's statements about Thaksin, who is currently imprisoned and uninvolved in the election. He questioned Anutin's loyalty and suggested that Anutin prioritizes the interests of his political mentor. Nattawut concluded by asserting his willingness to face legal challenges, emphasizing his commitment to speaking the truth.
