Lamphun: Nattawut Sanmuang addressed a rally in Lamphun, urging voters to choose Pheu Thai throughout the province. He emphasized that if Pheu Thai wins first place, Yotsanun will become Prime Minister, highlighting their capabilities and stating it's not just a political business. He affirmed that Pheu Thai is not dead and remains in the hearts of the people, and also sent a message to Thaksin Shinawatra in prison, assuring him that the people of Lamphun still love and care for him.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattawut Saikua, a campaign assistant for the Pheu Thai Party, addressed a rally at the Lamphun Chatuchak market in Mueang Lamphun district, stating that on February 8th, they will have a government and a next Prime Minister. He questioned which party would win first place and who would become Prime Minister. He said that if Pheu Thai wins, the candidate for Prime Minister would definitely be Professor Dr. Yotsanun. He noted that the North has already had Prime Ministers from the North, such as Thaksin Shinawatra and Yingluck Shinawatra, and a son-in-law from the North, Somchai Wongsawat. He then presented Professor Dr. Yotsanun, a scientist and academic from the North, who some criticize for his success based on his surname, but urged voters to consider his abilities. He highlighted the difference between a candidate and a scientist who doesn't engage in political games or create conflict, but only announces policies. He asked for the public's understanding of past actions and urged everyone in the province to vote for Pheu Thai, emphasizing that the party would continue existing policies alongside new ones.
Mr. Nattawut further stated that he is not running alone in this election, but with another person. He had arranged to meet with Mr. Thaksin, but Mr. Thaksin could not attend because he was imprisoned. He can only come because Mr. Thaksin was recently released. He remains steadfast in his position, and Mr. Thaksin, the founder of the Thai Rak Thai Party and later the Pheu Thai Party, continues to stand with the people. He mentioned that Mr. Thaksin's children and grandchildren visited him recently, and he conveyed their message that when he campaigns, people still remember him, care for him, and send him their support. This is the destiny of a Prime Minister who stands alongside the people. This is the destiny of the only Prime Minister in history who dared to declare that poverty would be eradicated. For over 20 years, the Pheu Thai Party has stood by the people until today.
Mr. Nattawut also said that today people asked him whether the Pheu Thai party is collapsing, ruined, or dead after this election. He said loudly and clearly that Pheu Thai will never die. If it were going to die, it would have died a long time ago. But it hasn't died because it still resides in the hearts of the people. Having three Pheu Thai candidates for Prime Minister today signifies readiness, clarity, and strength. He said that they have come to meet the people, and Lamphun province is a historically significant political area; in every election, the people of Lamphun have the highest voter turnout in the country. This time, he urged them to unite their strength once again, repeating the success of previous elections, asking for just two more seats in the country.
Mr. Nattawut said that he wanted to ask the people of Lamphun, as a fellow Northerner like Mr. Thaksin, if he were to call Mr. Thaksin's family this evening and tell them to come to Lamphun to meet their fellow citizens, could he ask Mr. Panthongtae Shinawatra, who is going to visit Mr. Thaksin, to convey the message that the people of Lamphun have not forgotten Thaksin, that they still love and care for him, and that the people of Lamphun will still vote for the Pheu Thai Party with two ballots? If so, he asked for their support, requesting that the sound from Lamphun province reach Klong Prem Prison.
