Bangkok: Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, a prominent party-list Member of Parliament and leader of the Prachachon Party, expressed gratitude to the public for their feedback through recent poll results, despite a noticeable decline in his popularity. He urged the public to monitor the party’s actions over the next four months and welcomed constructive feedback for improvement. Natthaphong also revealed plans for the People’s Party to announce its prime ministerial candidate list by the end of January 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, Natthaphong addressed the Nida Poll findings, which highlighted a decrease in his popularity as opposed to the rising popularity of Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Natthaphong acknowledged the fluctuating nature of poll results and emphasized his readiness to accept feedback. He expressed gratitude when poll results were favorable and committed to improving his performance when they were not. He encouraged the public to observe the Prachachon Party’s performance in Parliament, asserting that their actions would demonstrate the reasons behind support for Anutin and contribute positively to the country.
In response to inquiries about potential adjustments to his campaign plans for the upcoming election, Natthaphong mentioned ongoing planning and adjustments. He stated that since reaching the MoA, the Prachachon Party has been preparing internally by organizing a campaign team to devise election strategies, select candidates, and engage potential Cabinet members. He noted that the announcement would be made at an opportune moment.
Regarding the timeline for introducing the People’s Party’s prime ministerial candidate, Natthaphong indicated that it might happen around the end of January, contingent upon the dissolution of parliament and the official start of elections. He explained that some potential candidates might have conditions affecting the timing of their announcements and expressed caution about making announcements prematurely, emphasizing the importance of public feedback from polls.
