Bangkok:The government has enlisted Nene Royal, winner of America's Got Talent, to perform at an official welcome reception for 400 global financial leaders from the International Monetary Fund and World Bank.
According to Thai News Agency, the event is set for the evening of Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House. Mr. Ekkapop Pienpises, the Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the goal of the reception is to display Thailand's charm and vibrant culture to the international community.
Nene Royal, a 16-year-old Thai rock artist, will be a special guest of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Minister of Interior. She is expected to perform two or three songs, following her return from a performance in Singapore. This was organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Additional cultural performances will include contributions from National Artists and the Sarokraw Symphony Orchestra.
The reception will feature a visually striking display at the Government House, enhanced by dazzling lights. Guests will be greeted by women in modern Thai costumes from the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute and will enjoy a performance by the Joe Louis Puppet Theatre. An exhibition of creative works by Thai youth will also be on display in the Blue Room of the Santi Maitri Building.
The dinner menu will consist of a 4-course THAI SET format, reflecting the Prime Minister's policy of maintaining simplicity while showcasing authentic Thai flavors with local ingredients. The menu includes dishes like Chormuang chicken and Tom Yum Kung soup, with a choice of Massaman curry or baked salmon for the main course, concluding with a traditional Thai dessert. This event underscores Thailand's readiness and capability to engage with global leaders through cultural diplomacy.
