Manila:The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has announced the implementation of new regulations regarding baggage searches at airports. Effective from October 16, 2026, these rules permit searches of baggage without notifying the owner.

According to Thai News Agency, the searches will be conducted only when suspicious items are detected. At least two officers are required to carry out the searches to ensure compliance with international standards.
