New Cabinet Ministers Arrive at Government House for Official Duties

Bangkok: Ministers are gradually arriving at Government House to have their photos taken for their official identification cards before taking the oath of office. The atmosphere at Government House is bustling as ministers are having their photos taken for their official identification cards before proceeding to the audience with His Majesty the King to take the oath of office.

According to Thai News Agency, the Cabinet Secretariat arranged for the new Cabinet to meet at the Santi Maitri Building for their ministerial identification photos and screening before taking a group photo in front of the Thai Khu Fah Building. Afterward, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul led the new Cabinet in vehicles provided by the Cabinet Secretariat to depart Government House for Amporn Sathan Palace, Dusit Palace, to swear allegiance to His Majesty the King. The atmosphere at Government House was lively, with Members of Parliament arriving in droves. The new ministers attracted particular attention, while incumbent ministers greeted the media in a friendly manner.

However, earlier, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior arrived at Government House in a private electric car. Upon arrival, he led some of the cabinet ministers to pay respects to the sacred objects in the Thai Khu Fah building. These included Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Mrs. Supajee Suthamphan, Mr. Pakorn Nilapraphan, Mr. Ekanat Promphan (Minister of Energy), and Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa (Minister of Industry).

This evening, the Prime Minister will chair a special cabinet meeting at the Santi Maitri Building. A key agenda item is to acknowledge the draft government policy statement to be presented to Parliament on April 9-10.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, as chairman of the committee reviewing the fuel price structure, will report to the Cabinet on the results of discussions with refinery businesses to improve the wholesale price structure of oil at the refinery gate.

This morning, the team of Ms. Sukhsomruay Wantaniyakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, moved her belongings into her office on the 4th floor of Building 1, which was formerly the office of Mr. Santi Piyathat, former Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office. In addition, the team of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Supajee Suthamphan, also inspected the office on the 3rd floor of Building 1, as did the team of Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, who is using her previous office in Building 1.
