BURIRAM: Buriram’s unique standing meatball shop has experienced a significant increase in sales during the New Year period, with a remarkable 50% surge compared to the previous year. The shop, located behind the Buriram Railway Station, has become a popular destination for tourists seeking to purchase the meatballs as souvenirs.

According to Thai News Agency, the standing meatball shop has become a bustling hub for both locals and tourists who are eager to try the distinctive soft pork meatballs. These meatballs are served with a special dipping sauce made from tamarind juice and fried chili, offering a well-rounded flavor profile that has contributed to their popularity. The meatballs are affordably priced at 3-5 baht per stick, with set options available for 60, 100, and 150 baht, which include a variety of fresh vegetables.

The owner of Bonmay Cham Lukchin Yuan Kin noted that this year has seen an unprecedented number of tourists visiting Buriram. The continuous influx of customers has led to the shop operating 24 hours a day during the New Year period to accommodate the demand. The standing meatballs have become a distinctive identity for the region, drawing visitors from far and wide.
