Bangkok: The nominations for the 34th Suphanahong Awards for 2025 have been revealed, marking a significant moment for the Thai film industry. The year 2025 was noteworthy for the Thai cinema, with 53 films released and four of them grossing over 100 million baht worldwide. Among these, "Thi Yod 3" notably exceeded 400 million baht in global revenue. The Federation of National Film Associations recently held a press conference at SF World Cinema, CentralWorld, to announce the nominees for this prestigious event.
According to Thai News Agency, the press conference was graced by key figures from the Ministry of Culture and the Federation of National Film Associations. Attendees included Mr. Thanakorn Pulivekinth, President of the Federation, and Ms. Prarthana Sindhunawa, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Cultural Promotion, among others. The conference highlighted the nominations in 17 categories and introduced three special awards that will be presented at the ceremony.
This year's awards ceremony is themed "ALCHEMY OF LIGHT - Where Light, Sound and Soul Become Cinema," emphasizing the transformative power of filmmaking. Representatives from various committees, including the Directors' and Actors' Committees, participated in discussions regarding the selection criteria for this year's nominees.
The nominees for the 34th Suphanahong Awards encompass a diverse range of categories. Among the films receiving recognition, "The Stone" leads with nominations in several categories including Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, and Best Picture.
