The banks that can receive the Mekong River are at 12.20 meters. This year, there is a high water level. It is expected that the Mekong River will overflow its banks more than last year. It is expected that the water level will be higher than in 2024, which was recorded at 13.82 meters, overflowing the banks and flooding many areas. The Mekong River level in Bueng Kan Province is still normal. Loei Province is on alert for heavy rain and mudslides in 8 districts. Currently, the water level in the Loei River is still below the bank level. As for areas at risk of mudslides, such as behind the post office at Wat Thap Ming Khwan, sandbags and Big Bags have been brought in to reinforce the defense line.
For areas at risk of flooding and mudslides, there are 8 districts that need to be monitored, including Dan Sai, Na Haeo, Phu Ruea, Phu Luang, Phu Kradueng, Chiang Khan, Pak Chom, and Wang Saphung. Evacuation centers have been set up in advance. People can send cell broadcast messages to warn all mobile phones in the designated areas without having to register or pay for assistance in case of emergency.
