Bangkok: Nonny and her husband are taking a strategic turn, filing a lawsuit against Yi Tankhun over allegations of defrauding them of 1.386 billion baht in cryptocurrency. The court has now accepted the case.
According to Thai News Agency, a major drama has rocked both the music and investment industries this year, stemming from Acme Worawat Naknaewdee, lead singer of the band DoubleDeep and husband of actress Nonny Natacha Schumacher. He has now put down the microphone to fight back after being accused by political figure Yi Tankhun, who, along with a group of claimants alleging victims, defrauded over 1,386 million baht in a cryptocurrency investment scheme with more than 1,000 victims. The accusations also claim a guaranteed return of up to 500 times the initial investment, causing significant damage to Acme's reputation and affecting those close to him.
In this matter, Acme-DoubleDeep refuses to tolerate being attacked with one-sided media reports. Recently, they posted on their personal social media to retaliate and affirm their innocence by questioning the unreliable accusations directed at them. They have also authorized their legal team to file a criminal lawsuit against Yi Tankhun Jittisara, a former politician, and the court has accepted the case, registered as criminal case number A.750/2569, on charges of "defamation and defamation by publication" under Sections 326 and 328 of the Criminal Code. The lawsuit clearly states that the information disseminated by Yi Tankhun and the group of individuals is false, including the claims of damages exceeding 1,386 million baht, the number of victims exceeding 1,000, or the unrealistic promise of a 500x return. Acme views Yi Tankhun and the group's actions as a clear act of discrediting them. This has led to public misunderstanding, portraying him as an artist and businessman as a con artist. It has even escala ted to the point of publicly shaming him by exposing his private residence and disrupting the social media accounts of several close associates. This has caused distress and damage to his reputation and led to unjustified hatred towards him and his family, which is the reason for this petition to the court.
Furthermore, Acme-DoubleDeep requests fairness from the media, urging them to consider the information of those affected by the accusations. The lawyer has sent a letter to the media, attaching a copy of the first page of the lawsuit with the case number, confirming that the Criminal Court has accepted the defamation case for consideration. Acme also posted a message reiterating that media outlets and news pages that published this news based on misinformation may be called to testify as witnesses. They confirmed that there will be no lawsuits against media outlets that present information impartially. This move by Acme-DoubleDeep in filing a lawsuit against Yi Tankhun is considered a shift from the social media spotlight to the real courtroom. Who will prevail, and what deeper motives might be hidden, remains to be seen. The final outcome of this billion-baht case will be closely watched. Acme concluded their post with the statement, "The financial world is dirty because it involves vested interests; it's no different from politics."
