Pyongyang: North Korea released rare images of its citizens cooling off in the water as the country grapples with a severe heatwave.

According to Thai News Agency, North Koreans are flocking to water parks and beaches, including Wonsan Kalma Water Park, to find relief from the extreme temperatures affecting the Korean Peninsula. The images, which are not commonly seen in North Korean state media, depict citizens seeking respite from the oppressive heat. An official warning has been issued stating that the heatwave is expected to persist until the end of the weekend, with average daytime temperatures ranging from 33-35 degrees Celsius and relative humidity reaching 70% in the central and southern regions of the country.
