Khon kaen: Ignite the fun and excitement across the Northeast region with Northeast Phase 4, the biggest music festival in Isaan, featuring a full lineup of top-tier artists beloved by the Isaan people, creating a spectacular phenomenon. Chang Music Connection Presents Northeast Phase 4, the annual music festival for Isaan youth, has come to a spectacular close. This year's event returned under the concept of E-SAN MUSIC EXPERIENCE, going beyond simply listening to music. It created a space for everyone to spend time, have fun, and participate in a musical experience that clearly reflects the identity of the Isaan people. Organized by the ALL AREA team under the supervision of GMM SHOW, the event maintained its high standards, delivering energy, fun, and meticulous attention to detail on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Khon Kaen Bus Terminal 3.
According to Thai News Agency, from the moment you step into the event area, the atmosphere of Northeastern Thailand Phase 4 signals a fun and vibrant experience. The space is designed to convey the unique identity of Isan (Northeastern Thailand) in a contemporary way, from the entrance gate and the signature Northeastern Thailand Phase sign designed by Isan students to the various landmarks that bring the event to life and tell a story. One of the key moments this year was the COLOR OF E-SAN show from Khon Kaen Wittayayon School, who proudly waved their flags before the gates opened, a welcoming ceremony clearly stating that this is truly a space for the people of Northeastern Thailand.
Throughout the event, the Northeast Phase 4 was filled with energetic fun across three stages, each with a distinct character. Starting with the North stage, its striking design strongly reflected the Isaan culture. The stage size, production, and design all showcased the Isaan spirit through lighting, sound, and visuals. TILLY BIRDS kicked off the show with their hit songs, igniting the atmosphere with enthusiastic sing-alongs throughout the venue. PUN then took the stage, warming up the North stage with his uniquely charming vocals. KLEAR followed with familiar love songs, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere with spontaneous sing-alongs. JEFF SATUR then captivated the audience, delivering emotionally charged performances that elicited continuous cheers and sing-alongs. The energy intensified again when JOEY PHUWASIT took the stage with his friendly style, getting the audience moving to the rhythm. Finally, the energy ignited with BIG ASS, who unleashed their rock power without restraint.
The excitement continued non-stop with TAITOSMITH, who brought their hit songs to rock the audience with their powerful music, raising the atmosphere in front of the stage to another level. The North Stage closed out grandly with THREE MAN DOWN, their hit songs sung along by fans throughout the venue, creating a memorable image of a night filled with energy, emotion, and warmth. Meanwhile, the Friendship Stage, another key element of Northeastern Phase 4, was a space that clearly united the music and identity of the Isaan people. This stage was not only outstanding for its music but also reflected meaning through its design, a collaboration between students and youth from Isaan, conveying local identity in a contemporary style. The atmosphere was uniquely charming from beginning to end. The stage opened with ANATOMY RABBIT, a duo from Udon Thani, who took the audience into the world of synth-pop sounds.
Before handing the stage over to DEPT, who added a touch of sweetness with indie love songs and familiar melodies, the atmosphere changed instantly when MAIYARAP took the stage. His hip-hop energy had the audience moving to the rhythm. The intensity continued with SARAN x DIEOUT, a fusion of rap and live music that elicited cheers throughout the show. Then, THE DARKEST ROMANCE entered rock mode, delivering a powerful and emotional performance. The energy continued when RETROSPECT took the stage, igniting the rock spirit with songs that the fans sang along to. The show culminated in an explosive finale with LOMOSONIC, before Kong Huayrai closed the stage of friendship, leaving everyone with smiles and camaraderie-truly living up to its name, "The Friendship Stage."
A must-see at this year's event was the "Slanted Stage," a landmark area that utilized the slanted warehouse structure as its central design element. The lighting and visuals created a raw, cool, and distinctive character, giving each performance a unique identity compared to other stages. This year's Slanted Stage featured a diverse lineup of artists, from HED, KIKI, H 3 F, TOFU, and YEW, who each delivered their own unique rhythms and energy, before handing the baton to JAMES ALYN and TELEVISION OFF, who gradually intensified the atmosphere. The show culminated with DJ BOOKBANK, keeping the entire audience moving and dancing non-stop, ensuring the Slanted Stage remained vibrant and energetic until the very end.
And of course, the fun of Chiang Rai Phase 4 isn't just concentrated on the stage, but spread throughout the event area. There are plenty of photo opportunities, including the observatory and sunset views, the SECRET TOILET (a surprise toilet-style area with disco lights!), an Isaan massage zone (a unique Khon Kaen experience to relieve fatigue after long concerts), over 40 food stalls serving delicious and spicy dishes, and even a temporary tattoo booth where you can choose your favorite artist and have them painted on your body. You can take photos to show off to friends or share on social media. Even more special, the artists themselves - RETROSPECT, HED, MAIYARAP, JOEY PHUWASIT, and KLEAR - will be painting your tattoos up close! This kind of close-up experience isn't something you see often for music fans. Throughout the full day of Chang Music Connection Presents Chiang Rai Phase 4, every element-from the stage and artists to the activities-is seamlessly woven together to create a unique musical experie nce. The pride of the Isaan people is embedded in every corner, and that's why Chiang Rai Fest is more than just the biggest annual music festival in Isaan. But it's the unique fun atmosphere that makes many want to come back again next year.
