Bangkok: The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) has solidified its leadership in digital technology by clinching top honors at the Digital Government Awards 2025.
According to Thai News Agency, the NRCT was awarded first place in the category for department-level agencies primarily providing services. This accolade was presented during the ceremony held on November 17, 2025, at Santi Maitri Building, Government House. The event, organized by the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization), was presided over by Mr. Paradorn Prisananantakul, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office. Receiving the award on behalf of NRCT was Dr. Wiparat Di-ong, Director of the National Research Office. Additionally, Mrs. Mariyat Tangmitcharoen, Director of the Strategic Data Systems and Management Division for Science, Research and Innovation, NRCT, was honored for her work in driving organizations with digital data.
NRCT’s recognition this year marks its fifth consecutive win of the Digital Government Award. The organization achieved the top rank among department-level agencies that provide services across the nation. This achievement underscores NRCT’s dedication to enhancing digital systems for management and services, with a focus on research, integration of national databases, and elevating government service standards to ensure transparency, accessibility, and currency.
NRCT is advancing with innovative research and data services using Thai-language Large Language Models (LLMs). It has launched the “Thai-language LLM Research Data Search and Q and A System,” which builds upon the National Research and Innovation Management System (NRIIS) and the Thai Research Database (TNRR). The system leverages Thai LLM technology, tailored specifically for Thailand’s research and innovation context, to improve the efficiency of searching, analyzing, and accessing knowledge with greater speed and accuracy. It boasts three main capabilities:
1. TNRR Smart Search, which allows natural language search for research, accommodating misspellings, similar meanings, and cross-language searches.
2. TNRR DocChat, a question-and-answer system that provides summaries of research content, facilitating user interaction and in-depth exploration of information in a conversational manner.
3. NRIIS Chatbot, a comprehensive search tool for scholarship and research funding news.
