NSB Plans Meeting to Expand Investigation into “Air Meena” Drug Trafficking Case

Bangkok: The Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) is convening a meeting this afternoon to advance the investigation into the "Air Meena" drug trafficking case, with plans to explore connections to an individual known as "Rinrin." Authorities have reportedly identified all individuals involved in the operation.

According to Thai News Agency, the transnational heroin smuggling case, linked to the "Air Meena" flight attendant arrested in Australia, is under the scrutiny of Pol. Lt. Gen. Achayon Kraithong, Commander of the NSB. The meeting will include representatives from the NSB, Bangkok Metropolitan Police, and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) to deliberate on the investigation's progress.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Achayon emphasized that the focus will be on tracking the drug trafficking routes back to the border and identifying the operation's origins. The meeting will also address the detention of two suspects, Mr. Uthai and Mr. Nanthawat, both captured in actions related to the case. Pol. Lt. Gen. Achayon mentioned that additional information has been gathered but requires further verification, and details cannot yet be disclosed.

The investigation into "Rinrin," identified as a contact through online channels, is ongoing. Authorities have not confirmed specifics about "Rinrin's" identity, including gender or nationality, as investigations continue. The NSB remains committed to thoroughly investigating everyone involved in the network.

Determining the total number of individuals involved in the operation is currently challenging, as the investigation is incomplete. It is suspected that the network spans from border areas to the final destination, necessitating a comprehensive investigation. Meanwhile, the "Air Meena" flight attendant in Australia has provided a statement to authorities and is awaiting trial under Australian legal procedures.
