Oman Requests Updated List of Thai Ships for Hormuz Passage

Muscat: Oman has once again requested Thailand to provide a comprehensive list of Thai ships intending to navigate the Strait of Hormuz. This request follows the recent safe passage of a vessel owned by Siam Cement Group (SCG) through the strategic waterway. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, announced the development and indicated upcoming talks with the Iranian Minister of Defence to ensure further cooperation.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, highlighted the successful transit of the SCG vessel as a positive development amidst ongoing regional tensions. The Omani Ministry of Defence's request for an updated list is seen as an effort to facilitate the safe navigation of any remaining Thai vessels in the area.

The situation underscores the importance of diplomatic engagements with Oman, which maintains close relations with Iran. The hope is that continued dialogue will enable other Thai ships to traverse the Strait of Hormuz safely, despite the challenging geopolitical environment.
