One million positions in the country and abroad have been offered by the public and private sectors for the people at the Job Expo Thailand 2020, held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bang Na, from 26-28 September 2020.
Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha on 26 September presided over the opening of the Job Expo, aimed at promoting employment for new graduates, providing extra jobs to replace foreign workers, and maintaining the fields of employment affected by COVID-19.
The Prime Minister said that the Government attached great importance to employment generation, especially during the COVID-19 situation. The Government has approved various projects to stimulate the economy, offer employment opportunities for new graduates, and develop labor skills.
He said that many foreign ambassadors and leaders of several countries told him that they were willing to accept Thai people who wanted to return to work overseas. As a result of Thailand’s success in containing the spread of COVID-19, Thai people are recognized for their low risk from the disease. Several countries are also willing to employ more Thai workers.
The Prime Minister urged Thai people to develop themselves in response to the demands of employment in various sectors, especially the job opportunities that would help them move toward Thailand 4.0 and improve their quality of life.
