Operation “Bad Guys Out” Targets Illegal Immigration in Nationwide Crackdown

Pattaya: The Royal Thai Police has initiated “Operation Bad Guys Out,” a comprehensive nationwide operation aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration to bolster national peace, order, and security.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Samran Nualma, serving as the Deputy Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police and Director of the Center for Combating Transnational Criminals and Illegal Immigration, has been tasked by Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, to enhance preventive measures in rear-area security. This initiative seeks to prevent and suppress threats that could impact public order and national security. Gen. Samran convened with officials at the Pattaya City Police Station in Chonburi Province to coordinate the launch of ‘Operation Bad Guys Out,’ which began on December 20, 2025, at 6:00 AM.

The operation targets illegal immigrants and individuals involved in transnational crimes and other offenses affecting national security, with the goal of ensuring public safety and building confidence. By December 20, 2015, authorities had searched 161 targets, arresting 870 suspects, predominantly for illegal immigration. Between December 1 and 20, 2015, law enforcement searched 13,394 targets, leading to 13,073 arrests, with 6,500 cases involving refusal of immigration.

Pol. Gen. Samran emphasized the importance of systematic law enforcement and verification of foreign nationals. The Royal Thai Police has intensified screening at international airports, land and sea checkpoints, and border areas to intercept illegal immigration. The National Security Council and the Commissioner General have issued directives to deny entry to Cambodian nationals unless for specific humanitarian or official reasons.

Within the country, inspections focus on verifying legal residency and visa compliance. The Royal Thai Police is committed to taking strict legal action against overstayers and those misusing permits. Foreign nationals displaying inappropriate behavior or engaging in criminal activities face legal consequences, including deportation and watchlist placement.

The Royal Thai Police stresses that these actions are preventative measures under the rule of law, respecting human rights, and not targeting legally residing foreign nationals. The cooperation of security agencies, administrative authorities, and the public is sought to maintain national security. The Crime Suppression Center will continue monthly operations to uphold peace and order.
