Chiang mai: An operation has been initiated to combat the wildfires in Chiang Mai, with the objective of restoring clean air for the public. Over the past 25 days, Chiang Mai has witnessed more than 8,000 hotspots, resulting in the burning of nearly 300,000 rai of land. This has led to persistently high PM2.5 levels, positioning the city among the most polluted cities globally for almost a month.
According to Thai News Agency, the governor of Chiang Mai recently ordered the closure of the forest and initiated an operation to suppress the wildfires. This operation involves both aerial and ground-based efforts, with the aim of improving air quality and providing relief to the residents of Chiang Mai soon.
