Hat yai: The “Superintendent of Hat Yai Police Station” has been reassigned to the Songkhla Provincial Police Operations Center, effectively removing him from his previous role. This decision comes in response to the ongoing flooding situation in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, the transfer was formalized under Songkhla Provincial Police Order No. 1219/2025, which outlines the reassignment of officers to ensure efficient administration within the Songkhla Provincial Police. The order cites necessity and appropriateness as driving factors to prevent potential government damage.
The reassignment follows the powers granted under Section 67, Section 68 (5), Section 92, and Section 105 (4) of the National Police Act. It is also in accordance with the 2022 Royal Thai Police Regulations, specifically regarding the assignment of police officers to assist in official duties as per the 2023 directive, dated December 1, 2023.
The directive specifies that Police Colonel Thammarat Phet Nong Chum, previously serving as the Superintendent of Hat Yai Police Station, will now assist with duties at the Songkhla Provincial Police Operations Center. This change leaves his former command position vacant.
Additionally, Police Colonel Suwarot Lunwitayanon, the Deputy Commander of Songkhla Provincial Police, will assume the role of Superintendent of Hat Yai Police Station. He will simultaneously maintain his current duties without any interruption.
This order is effective from November 27, 2025, and will remain in place until further notice.
