Oscar Award for ‘Mr. Nobody Against Putin’ Goes Missing After TSA Incident

New york: The Oscar award for the documentary "Mr. Nobody Against Putin," directed by Russian filmmaker Pavel 'Pasha' Tarankin, has disappeared after being forcibly loaded onto a plane. This incident happened as Talankin was preparing to board a flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Germany.

According to Thai News Agency, David Borenstein, co-author of the documentary, reported that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) prevented Talankin from carrying the Oscar statue on board due to its weight of approximately 3.8 kilograms, which was deemed potentially dangerous. With no checked baggage, the statue was packed in a cardboard box and sent as cargo on a Lufthansa flight. However, upon arrival in Frankfurt, the Oscar was missing, and it remains uncertain at what point the statue disappeared.

Lufthansa Airlines has expressed regret over the incident and confirmed that they are conducting an urgent internal search, prioritizing the missing award. Borenstein took to social media to criticize the treatment of Talankin, questioning if a famous actor or English speaker would have faced similar obstacles.

The documentary "Mr. Nobody Against Putin" was secretly filmed in a Russian primary school to reveal the indoctrination of nationalist ideology and propaganda supporting the aggression against Ukraine. The film is banned in Russia.
