Bangkok: Sales at the "Silpa Cheep Prateep Thai OTOP: Uniting Hearts with Royal Blessings" event have exceeded 367 million baht over a span of five days, with August 12th alone accounting for 82.7 million baht in sales. According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, shared the progress of the event, which runs from August 8-16, 2026, at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The first five days of the event (August 8-12, 2026) saw cumulative sales reach 367,933,077 baht, showcasing the strong public interest in OTOP products and community-based goods from across Thailand.
The Deputy Spokesperson emphasized the government's commitment, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, to foster economic opportunities at the grassroots level. By promoting OTOP products and local wisdom, the government aims to expand market access, attract more consumers, and directly increase income for entrepreneurs and communities. The success of the event underscores the potential of Thai products in generating economic value.
On August 12, 2026, sales reached a peak, totaling 82,735,853 baht. This figure included in-store sales of 73,952,767 baht, online orders of 5,779,439 baht, and online sales of 3,003,647 baht. Sales figures for the preceding days were also impressive: August 8 saw 70,728,357 baht, August 9 recorded 75,258,201 baht, August 10 achieved 70,015,308 baht, and August 11 generated 69,195,358 baht.
The majority of cumulative sales came from the textile and apparel group, amounting to approximately 193.8 million baht. Food products followed with sales of about 66.7 million baht, while household goods, non-food herbal products, and beverages accounted for approximately 41.7 million baht, 8.8 million baht, and 7.5 million baht, respectively.
The event continues until August 16, 2026, bringing together OTOP entrepreneurs from across Thailand. It showcases a variety of Silpa Cheep products, Thai fabrics, handicrafts, food, and community products. Attendees can also benefit from the "Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40" government subsidy program, further supporting economic growth at the grassroots level.
