Owen Criticizes Manchester United for Missing Out on Calvert-Lewin

Manchester: Former England striker Michael Owen believes Manchester United missed a crucial opportunity to sign the in-form striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, citing his experience and potential as a difficult player to handle when fully fit.

According to Thai News Agency, Calvert-Lewin became a free agent in the summer of 2025, and Manchester United had the opportunity to sign him but squandered it. Leeds United secured his services, and he became a key player for the Whites, scoring 15 goals in 39 games last season and adding another 3 goals in 6 games this season.

Owen believes that if Manchester United had decided to sign Calvert-Lewin at that time, they would have become a much more dangerous team because they had a natural center forward who could finish in every way.
