Bangkok: The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) and the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) are intensifying efforts to convene a 'Special August 4th Session' aimed at unveiling evidence of alleged collusion in the Senate elections. Both groups have expressed their determination to take decisive action against the Election Commission if the case is dismissed.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Panida Mongkolsawasdi, a Member of Parliament for Samut Prakan and deputy spokesperson of the People's Party (PPP), provided an update on the ongoing investigation into the Senate election collusion case. She announced that the PPP will host a special event on August 4th to present evidence of irregularities in the Election Commission's operations. Witnesses and speakers are expected to participate in the event, emphasizing the urgency due to fears that the Election Commission may not forward the case file to the court as mandated by the 26th investigative committee's resolution. Ms. Mongkolsawasdi warned that if the Election Commission either dismisses the complaint or selectively submits the case, the PPP will initiate legal proceedings for negligence or abuse of power.

In a related development, Thanagorn Wangboonkongchana, a Bhumjaithai Party list MP, commented on the opposition's intention to file a no-confidence motion against the government in August. He acknowledged that it is a constitutional right and an effective means to hold the government accountable through parliamentary procedures, rather than resorting to daily interviews filled with empty rhetoric. Thanagorn expressed confidence that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and all ministers are prepared to provide explanations, asserting that the government's parliamentary support remains robust. He challenged the opposition to present any evidence of corruption to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) instead of relying on mere boasts or unfounded rhetoric.
