“Paethongtarn” meets with government department heads, says the PM is not difficult to approach

The Prime Minister met with the heads of government agencies, delighted to work together, although it was a pity that many people had retired, leaving little time to work together. He said that the Prime Minister is not difficult to approach, so please contact him. He emphasized that as the main pillar of the country, he must develop and make the people happy.

Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, chaired the 3/2024 meeting of the heads of ministerial departments or equivalent at the Santi Maitri Building (outer back), Government House. Before the meeting, the Prime Minister took a group photo with the heads of ministerial departments or equivalent at the Thai Khu Fah Building lobby.

Before the meeting began, the 42 heads of government agencies and representatives were given the opportunity to introduce themselves to the Prime Minister, who bowed to everyone.

The Prime Minister then said before the meeting began that today he was very honored to meet everyone. Of course, it was a pity that many people who were about to retire had such a short time to work together. Many people had the opportunity to meet, especially during the flood situation, and work together. He would like to thank everyone for their dedication, knowledge, experience, physical and mental strength in their work, including the sectors that are still working today, who are doing their best. No matter what the government asks for help, they always receive a quick response. Therefore, he would like to thank everyone very much and would like to pass on his good wishes and concern to everyone who works hard. If there is anything we can consult, contact, or talk about outside of work, he would be very happy to do so. For example, the Permanent Secretary is very important in the work of each unit.

‘I want to work closely with every agency seriously, no matter which permanent secretary comes to talk, come to meet me, I am very happy. Don’t think that coming to meet the Prime Minister is difficult. It is not difficult at all. Just contact me, come to talk about work or how to help solve problems. I think everyone has the same intention, which is to develop the country and work to make the people happy. We have a country that we are well prepared for. Here, it is the main duty, the main pillar. Please contact me, ask for cooperation to work as a team. It requires cooperation from all parties to make everything faster, easier, more comprehensive, and I am glad to have met everyone today,’ the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister and participants listened to the sharing of experiences and impressions of their past official duties from the heads of government departments at the ministry level or equivalent who will retire in 2024.

The Prime Minister praised retirees for their dedication to their work and for their responsibility towards themselves, their agencies and the country. The Prime Minister viewed the civil service system as a very important mechanism for developing and driving the country. The government’s policies and visions cannot be accomplished if civil servants do not help each other, which is important. He also emphasized the importance of being close to each other and being able to talk to each other in order to develop various matters for the better for the country and its people.

‘I would like everyone to break the wall that says ‘talking is difficult’. In this era, we need to talk closely and move forward with strength and fortitude. I would like to ask everyone to help continue the policies of former Prime Minister Settha Thavisin to ensure continuity in our work, especially in the 10 urgent policies. I would like to ask all ministries to continue working together and if there is any content that can be publicized to the public, it would be very good and necessary. In the past, I have divided up duties for various ministries and deputy prime ministers, and they can give interviews about the work that the ministries can do because they will understand the parts of the work that they can do well. As the Prime Minister, I can listen to the overall picture, but for the details, those who actually work on the field will be able to answer the questions best so that the public can better understand the various parts,’ said the Prime Minister.

It was reported that the Prime Minister brought a set of THAN natural essential oil products along with a framed photo of him and his signature as a souvenir to the heads of ministry-level or equivalent government departments who retire this year. In addition, the Prime Minister also gave a framed group photo as a souvenir to the heads of ministry-level or equivalent government departments who attended the meeting today.

While Mr. Sutthipong brought a set of Benjarong ware, Phum Khao Bin pattern on a gold background, from the Don Kai Dee Benjarong Village, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province, to give to the heads of government agencies at the ministry level or equivalent who will retire in 2024.
