Klong prem central prison: Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, accompanied by her husband, Mr. Pitak Sukhsawat, recently visited former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra at the Klong Prem Central Prison. Upon their arrival, the couple was warmly greeted by Red Shirt supporters, who offered their encouragement with a traditional wai. Mr. Winyat Chatmontri, Thaksin’s lawyer, was also present during the visit.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paetongtarn addressed questions regarding the potential candidacy of Professor Dr. Yotsanun Wongsawat for Prime Minister. She noted that Dr. Yotsanun and her father, Mr. Thaksin, both entered politics at a similar age, around 46, and her father extended his encouragement towards Dr. Yotsanun. She reassured that Dr. Yotsanun’s health is in good condition, before departing the premises.

Mr. Thaksin is currently housed in the elderly and infirmary wards of the prison. Mr. Winyat, his lawyer, mentioned that Thaksin continues to deal with pre-existing health conditions related to hi
s neck, spinal cord, and limbs, but he remains committed to serving his time in prison.
