Islamabad: Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for agreeing to extend a ceasefire in the ongoing U.S.-Israeli-Iran conflict. This extension, requested by the Pakistani government, aims to facilitate continued diplomatic efforts toward resolving the conflict.
According to Thai News Agency, Pakistani leaders have voiced optimism that the parties involved will uphold the ceasefire and work towards a comprehensive peace agreement. The second round of talks, which is anticipated to take place in Islamabad, is seen as a critical step towards achieving a permanent resolution.
President Trump announced the extension of the ceasefire to provide additional time for negotiations, pending a formal offer from Iran. Despite this extension, the President emphasized the continuation of the U.S. Navy's naval blockade on Iranian trade. This blockade remains a contentious issue, as Iran perceives it as a form of warfare.
