Bangkok: The Parliament will adjourn its first session of 2026 on July 11. Speaker Sophon thanked members for their efficient work and for maintaining a quorum throughout the session.
According to Thai News Agency, during a meeting of the House of Representatives, Speaker Sophon Saram, who chaired the session, expressed gratitude towards both government and opposition members for their valuable contributions and maintaining a quorum. The meeting included the consideration of the Ombudsman's report for the fiscal year 2025.
The session concluded with the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives reading the Royal Decree, which announced the closure of the First Ordinary Session of the year, effective July 11, 2026. The next session, termed the Second Ordinary Session of the year, Year 1, is slated to reopen from August 25, 2026, and will continue until December 22, 2026. Members were asked to stand and listen to the Royal Decree before Speaker Sophon adjourned the meeting at 7:06 PM.
