Pattaya Mayoral Election Sees Enthusiastic Voter Turnout

Bangkok: The election for the Mayor of Pattaya was bustling with activity as Bang Lamung residents enthusiastically cast their votes without any problems. At 8:00 AM on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the atmosphere at the opening of the polling stations for the Pattaya City Mayor and Pattaya City Council members election in Constituency 1, at Pattaya Technical College, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, was lively. Many citizens arrived to cast their votes since early morning before the polls opened.

According to Thai News Agency, for the preparation of polling stations in the area of Pattaya Technical College, there were three sub-polling units to accommodate eligible voters in Nong Pla Lai Subdistrict. Polling station No. 1, which covered Village No. 6-7, had a total of 440 eligible voters. Polling station number 2, serving Village No. 8, had 704 eligible voters, while polling station number 3, also part of Village No. 8, had 680 eligible voters.

Before the scheduled opening time, all election officials collaborated to prepare the venue, polling booths, ballots, and equipment. Representatives of eligible voters from the area were invited to witness the verification and opening of empty ballot boxes, ensuring transparency according to election law. Voters then began casting their ballots at 8:00 AM.

Overall, the voting atmosphere in Constituency 1 was orderly, and no election law violations were reported. Citizens continuously arrived to check their names and cast their votes, reflecting a strong sense of political awareness and democratic participation among the residents of Bang Lamung District and Pattaya City today.
