Pattaya: Police surrounded and arrested Chinese nationals holding a drug party. Last night, at around 3:30 AM, Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyoo, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, along with investigative officers from Region 2 Police, led a force of over 40 officers to surround a gathering place located on Pattaya Third Road, North Pattaya, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, after receiving reports of illegal drug use inside the building.
According to Thai News Agency, the building was found to be a luxurious four-story structure, with each floor designed as a karaoke (KTV) room. Two rooms were occupied by tourists. Authorities surrounded the building and made arrests. During the raid, some individuals attempted to flee, but officers apprehended all 36 individuals, both men and women, who were then taken to Pattaya City Police Station for further questioning. However, the initial search did not reveal any drugs or illegal items, suggesting the suspects may have discarded them before the raid.
The superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station revealed that after receiving a tip from an informant, they planned and executed the operation with the Region 2 Investigation Unit, apprehending 36 suspects, all of whom are Chinese nationals. They were taken for questioning and drug testing, and their immigration documents were checked to verify their legal entry into Thailand. They will then be handed over to Pattaya City Police Station investigators for legal proceedings.
