Bangkok: PEA (Provincial Electricity Authority) is campaigning to encourage the public to use electricity economically and efficiently. Given the global energy crisis, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) is closely monitoring the energy tensions in the Middle East, which may affect global energy price trends and impact the cost of living. Therefore, PEA urges the public to use electricity economically and efficiently to help reduce expenses and support the country's energy efficiency.
According to Thai News Agency, PEA requests public cooperation in conserving energy by choosing electrical appliances with energy efficiency labels, regularly inspecting and maintaining electrical appliances, turning off lights when not in use, and unplugging electrical appliances after use. They advise against plugging multiple appliances into the same power strip to reduce the risk of short circuits and fires. PEA recommends setting air conditioners to 26 degrees Celsius and cleaning them regularly every six months. Additionally, the authority encourages the switch to LED bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs and supports the use of alternative energy sources such as solar power, as well as planting trees to reduce heat and help absorb greenhouse gases.
PEA is committed to ensuring the security of the power system and closely monitoring the global energy situation to ensure the continued efficient use of electricity.
