Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has announced the total donations received by political parties for May 2026, revealing that contributions exceeded 6 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, the People's Party emerged as the leading recipient with contributions amounting to 1,640,500 baht from 115 donors.
In total, 14 political parties received donations of 5,000 baht or more from a combined 156 donors, amounting to 6,018,733.57 baht. After the People's Party, the Kla Tham Party stood out with 1,464,440 baht in donations, along with additional benefits worth 300,000 baht from two donors.
The Economic Party secured 285,793.57 baht from three donors, while the Palang Pracharath Party received 400,000 baht from a single donor. Other notable contributions included the Democrat Party with 200,000 baht from 12 donors, and the New Opportunity Party collecting 500,000 baht from three donors.
Smaller contributions were made to parties such as the Thai Bhakdi Party, which received 215,000 baht from five donors, and the Prachachart Party, garnering 280,000 baht from six donors. The Thai Kao Mai Party, focusing on forest conservation, received a significant single donation of 350,000 baht.
Overall, the detailed breakdown illustrates a competitive landscape of political financing in Thailand, with the People's Party maintaining a significant edge in donor support for the month of May 2026.
