Kanchanaburi: Phalang Kanchanaburi FC has officially appointed South Korean coach Park Hang-seo as their head coach for the upcoming Thai League 2 season. Dr. Prawat Kitchathamkulnit, president of the club, shared the news through his personal Facebook page by posting a picture of his daughter, "Chertam," holding the team jersey alongside Park Hang-seo. The club quickly followed with an official announcement.
According to Thai News Agency, the team also introduced a new coaching staff, including former Thai national team defender Phanupong Wongsa, who will serve as an assistant coach. Park Hang-seo and his team are set to focus on establishing a strong foundation for Kanchanaburi football, starting from the youth level, while also working on the development of the club's management system and structure for the long term.
Park Hang-seo's previous accomplishments include leading the Vietnam U23 national team to a runner-up finish in the 2018 Asian Cup, guiding the Vietnamese national team to gold medals at the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games, winning the 2018 ASEAN Cup, finishing 4th at the 2018 Asian Games, reaching the quarter-finals of the 2019 Asian Cup, and qualifying for the third round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
