Pharadon Accelerates Relief Efforts in Hat Yai with Near-Completion of Compensation Payments

Hat yai: Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, revealed the progress in assisting flood victims in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. He stated that the initial compensation payment of 9,000 baht per household has been almost 100% completed. Currently, only a few hundred individuals remain who have not received their payments due to inactive PromptPay accounts. He has instructed local authorities to verify the information on the ground to expedite the transfer of funds as quickly as possible.

According to Thai News Agency, regarding the housing repair subsidy based on actual damages (maximum ceiling of 49,500 baht per household), as of February 26, 2026, 11,853 households have been approved, totaling over 184 million baht. Songkhla province is scheduled to begin disbursing the first installment in early March 2026, using Hat Yai Municipality as a pilot area before expanding to other areas.

However, the government has coordinated with Songkhla province and surrounding local administrative organizations, including the municipalities of Khlong Hae, Kho Hong, Khuan Lang, Ban Phru, and Thung Tam Sao, to expedite the verification of victim information within the timeframe. This is especially true in Hat Yai Municipality, where officials are verifying an average of 2,000-3,000 eligibility claims per day. The goal is to approve and disburse assistance to every household within March.
