Pheu Thai Party Holds Annual General Meeting 2025 with Key Leaders in Attendance

Bangkok: Pheu Thai Party held its annual general meeting for the year 2025, attended by prominent figures including Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister and party leader. The meeting brought together significant party leaders, members of parliament, and core supporters to discuss future strategies and acknowledge the contributions made by MPs in recent political proceedings.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra chaired the general meeting, which included important figures such as Mr. Surawong Thienthong, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Settha Thavisin, former prime minister. Other notable attendees were Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, and Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, all of whom hold deputy prime ministerial roles. The meeting focused on approving financial and performance reports for the year 2567, without introducing any special agenda.

Ms. Paethongtarn expressed gratitude to the MPs for their collaborative efforts during the no-confidence debate and highlighted the formation of a political support team aimed at enhancing communication efficiency among MPs. She emphasized the importance of having a team that could keep members updated on political situations and legislative changes, thereby boosting their confidence and ability to communicate effectively both in parliament and with the public.

She also addressed recent challenges faced by the government, thanking party members for their support during the no-confidence debate. Later in the day, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra made an appearance to participate in Songkran Festival traditions with party members. He expressed his gratitude for the invitation and reflected on the current economic challenges, drawing parallels to past crises. Mr. Thaksin urged party members to unite and focus on overcoming obstacles, with an optimistic outlook for future successes.

The event concluded with a call for solidarity and resilience among party members, as they prepare for the next election scheduled for 2027. Mr. Thaksin assured that despite any external attempts to create unrest, the party would continue to work towards resolving national economic and security issues, with visible progress expected in the coming years.
