Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party has reinforced its commitment to the people by prioritizing assistance to flood-affected residents in Uttaradit and Phitsanulok. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, a key figure in the party, canceled her campaign activities to visit these areas, emphasizing the party’s dedication to standing by its citizens during times of crisis.
According to Thai News Agency, the deputy spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party announced that Paethongtarn Shinawatra, a former Prime Minister and leader of the Pheu Thai Party, decided to forgo her campaign efforts in the Kanchanaburi by-election. This decision was made to focus on aiding those impacted by the floods in Uttaradit and Phitsanulok, highlighting the party’s priority to address the needs and suffering of the people over political endeavors.
Ms. Khattiya Sawatdipol, a party-list MP and deputy spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, emphasized that the decision to cancel the campaign trip underscores the party’s commitment to its citizens. She noted that the Pheu Thai Party has been actively involved in the flood relief efforts, with MPs and staff coordinating various initiatives. These efforts include digging drainage channels, constructing flood barriers, distributing essential goods, and managing evacuation points for affected residents.
