Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party has strategically repositioned itself to become a leading contender in the upcoming elections. Chaturon Chaisang, the party’s strategy chairman, emphasized the party’s mission to address people’s problems and lay the groundwork for democratic development in the nation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Chiang Mai MP and the Pheu Thai Party leader, along with Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, party secretary-general, Mr. Chusak Sirinil, deputy party leader, and Mr. Chaturon Chaisang, chairman of the new Pheu Thai Party Strategy Committee, held a joint press conference. They announced the appointment of the party’s chairman and strategy committee, highlighting the committee’s role in strengthening the party’s competitive edge and policy formulation.
Mr. Chulaphan revealed that he had signed Article 63 of the party’s regulations, officially forming the Pheu Thai Party Strategy Committee, which held its first meeting recently. The committee comprises a blend of experienced and new-generation members, aimed at catering to the needs of various public segments.
Mr. Chaturon expressed his delight at being appointed as chairman, noting that his long-standing involvement in the party’s strategy efforts has now been formalized. He emphasized the committee’s role in crafting both long-term strategies and immediate plans for electoral success, ensuring direct communication with the executive committee.
The newly established committee aims to focus on election preparations, addressing the party’s lag in polls, and reinforcing its strengths. This involves gathering data, listening to opinions, and making fact-based decisions. The committee’s diverse makeup, including seasoned politicians and academic staff, is expected to contribute significantly to formulating effective strategies and recommendations for the party and its representatives.
