Pheu Thai Party’s Elephant Arrival Marks Lively Start to Candidate Registration

Nakhon si thammarat: The atmosphere was bustling on the first day of parliamentary candidate registration across various provinces.

According to Thai News Agency, in Nakhon Si Thammarat, candidates and their supporters braved the rain to arrive as early as 7:00 AM at the community hall in front of the Nakhon Si Thammarat city hall, which was designated as the registration venue by the Election Commission of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The Democrat Party, led by Deputy Leader Mr. Chaichana Dechdecho, and the Bhumjaithai Party, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, commenced their registration day by paying respects at the City Pillar Shrine. The upcoming general election in this province will see a reduction in the number of MPs from 10 to 9, with major parties, including the Democrat Party, Bhumjaithai Party, and the People's Party, expected to engage in a fierce contest.

In Trang Province, the registration process was equally vibrant. Prospective candidates from different political parties flocked to the Trang Provincial Hall in Thap Thiang Subdistrict, Mueang Trang District, to submit their election documents. The Pheu Thai Party made a striking entrance as they arrived on elephants to register candidates for all four constituencies, led by Mr. Rat Phuklang for Trang Constituency 1.

Noteworthy candidates from other parties included Mr. Tawee Surabal and Ms. Sunatcha Loesathapornpipit from Bhumjaithai Party, Mr. Kittidech Wannaboworn and Ms. Atchara Wongsutthiwan from Thai Kao Mai Party, and Mr. Amnuay Nualthong from the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party. The registration process proceeded smoothly, with election officials ensuring order throughout the day.

Trang Province is divided into four electoral districts, each with specific subdistricts, and has a total of 502,189 eligible voters on the party-list system. The Trang Provincial Election Commission Office has scheduled candidate registration for the House of Representatives in constituencies 1-4 from December 27-31, 2025, including public holidays, at the Trang Provincial Hall, ensuring a structured and efficient process for all participants.
