Pheu Thai Secures Favorable Number in Party-List Lottery

Bangkok: The list of party-list numbers for the upcoming election has been released, revealing that the Pheu Thai Party emerged as the luckiest, securing the advantageous number 9 position. This comes as 52 political parties participated in the lottery to determine their respective numbers.

According to Thai News Agency, the Election Commission oversaw the process, which involved two rounds of lottery to assign numbers to the parties. The initial round determined the order in which parties would submit their applications, followed by a second round where party leaders or representatives drew their numbers. Bhumjaithai Party received number 37, PChN got number 46, Kla Tham was assigned number 42, and Ruam Thai Sang Chart obtained the favorable number 6.

The Election Commission has announced specific locations for the registration of candidates for the party-list system of the House of Representatives. Political parties are required to submit their candidates for the position of Prime Minister. Registration will be open from December 28-30, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and on December 31, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

At the designated registration time of 8:30 AM, all 52 political parties confirmed their intention to participate in the election. The application documents submitted by the parties were verified for completeness and accuracy. The Secretary-General of the Election Commission sought consensus among the parties or their representatives on the order of application submission. However, as a consensus could not be reached, a lottery process was implemented to determine the order.

The results of the lottery process assigned unique numbers to each of the 52 political parties, setting the stage for the upcoming election. The Pheu Thai Party's favorable draw of number 9 is seen as a positive sign as the parties gear up for the electoral contest.
