Phuket: Phuket Airport is preparing measures to screen for Nipah virus infection. Currently, there are five direct flights per week from affected areas. On January 25, 2026, Phuket Airport prepared measures to screen for Nipah Virus following an outbreak in West Bengal, India, an area under continuous surveillance. Phuket Airport, in collaboration with the International Infectious Disease Control checkpoint, proactively established screening points for passengers arriving from the affected area to closely monitor and prevent the spread of the disease.

According to Thai News Agency, Phuket Airport has one airline operating five direct flights per week from affected areas. To ensure smooth and efficient operations, Phuket Airport has enhanced public health measures within the passenger terminal, including increasing the frequency of cleaning common areas and contact points, and coordinating closely with the International Infectious Disease Control checkpoint to build safety and confidence for passengers, users, and airport personnel.

Phuket Airport is prepared to strictly implement the measures and guidelines of the Ministry of Public Health should an escalation of disease control measures be announced in the future. Passengers and users are asked to have confidence in Phuket Airport's public health management system.
