Bangkok: Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, has clarified that no minister has received any indication of being removed from the cabinet. The assurance comes amidst ongoing discussions about potential cabinet adjustments.
According to Thai News Agency, Phumtham emphasized the strong working relationship he shares with Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as they were seen together leaving the Thai Khu Fah Building. This camaraderie was highlighted following a meeting that focused on expediting the spending of the 2025 budget, a concern raised by the Prime Minister. The meeting, which included relevant ministries, aimed to ensure that all allocated funds would be utilized by September 2025.
Phumtham stated that while there have been no current discussions about reshuffling the coalition parties or cabinet ministries, the Prime Minister is considering the matter and has consulted various parties. He reiterated that, as of now, there has been no indication from the Prime Minister regarding any imminent changes in the cabinet.
When questioned about public dissatisfaction related to product prices and its potential impact on the Pheu Thai Party’s voter appeal, Phumtham remarked that the decision ultimately lies with the Prime Minister. He noted that the Prime Minister has already engaged in discussions with multiple parties to address these interconnected issues.
