“Phumtham” reiterates the clear stance of the coalition parties, not touching Section 112

Government House, 22 Oct. – “Phumtham” reiterates the position of the coalition government is clear, not touching Section 112, the Amnesty Act. Whether they agree or disagree, they have to talk about the details.

Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Phumtham Vejjayachai spoke about the Pheu Thai Party’s position on the report of the special committee studying the consideration of the amnesty bill, saying that it must be looked at in the parliament. Yesterday (October 21), the Prime Minister already answered, so there is no need to ask again. The Prime Minister said that all parties agree, which is not to use Section 112 because it is a condition for forming a government.

As for the matter of separating the duties of the executive and the parliament, what does that mean? Does that mean they don’t have to agree? Mr. Phumtham stated that it’s not. The executives work together. In terms of the people’s problems, we try to solve them and talk to each other. Yesterday (October 21), we had dinner together, s
o we talked. We do whatever we can to work together on. As for the parliament, there is a whip who has to take care of each law. Whether we agree or disagree, we will discuss the details. Therefore, these two powers are clearly separated. If you ask the government about legal issues, they are different matters. Now, it has been clearly proven that the government cooperates on everything. Whether we agree or disagree, the Prime Minister has already answered that from the beginning, we talked about both things we agree on and things we disagree on. As for the party, the party talked. In reality, it may seem like the same thing, but the roles are separate.

When asked if he could say what the differences were, Mr. Phumtham revealed that this is a sensitive issue, as the Prime Minister said, which is something the coalition parties must discuss. In order to create greater understanding, the Prime Minister has already said that he will invite each party to discuss regularly because there are many problems. -316 –
