Pichai Awaits Response from US Trade Talks, Plans Real Estate Fee Reduction

Bangkok: Pichai has yet to respond to US trade talks, requesting a statement after the afternoon meeting, indicating that the measure to reduce transfer fees will be submitted to the Cabinet today to help the real estate sector. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira addressed the ongoing trade negotiations with the United States, stating that he would provide answers following the US Trade Policy Working Group meeting convened by the Prime Minister in the afternoon.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichai emphasized the importance of waiting until the meeting concludes before making any official statements. When questioned about a possible travel schedule with the Board of Investment (BOI), Pichai mentioned his flexibility to adjust plans and prioritize critical matters.

Regarding real estate measures entering the Cabinet today, Mr. Pichai confirmed that there would be a proposal to reduce transfer fees aimed at stimulating the real estate sector. However, when asked about the consideration of Somchai Sajjapong, chairman of the Bank of Thailand (BOT), by the cabinet today, Pichai stated that it would not be discussed yet.
