Bangkok: Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, has suggested that the deal to form a new government is nearing completion, with expectations of having it in place by April. This development is anticipated to pave the way for implementing crucial economic policies.

According to Thai News Agency, Pipat noted that the discussions surrounding the allocation of ministerial quotas are almost concluded. He acknowledged that media reports are close to the truth and expressed confidence that a new government would be established before Songkran, the Thai New Year. He emphasized the urgency, stating that Thailand's economy is at a pivotal point and requires immediate governmental action to progress further and address both domestic and global political tensions.

Pipat clarified that he is not directly involved in the government formation process, pointing to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and the Bhumjaithai Party's executive committee as the responsible parties. He stated that while he is not handling the matter, the media's portrayal of the situation aligns with the reality that a political agreement is nearly finalized.

Addressing concerns about possible attempts to discredit the government formation with a leaked video, Pipat expressed confidence in the transparency of the process. He dismissed any worries about the existence of such a video, asserting there is nothing secretive within the Bhumjaithai Party that could be exploited.

Pipat also highlighted the Bhumjaithai Party's objectives, which include achieving GDP growth of 3% by 2026 and preparing for the 2027 budget. He warned that any delay in forming the government could hinder these plans, stressing the need for prompt action to ensure Thailand's swift recovery and progress.
