Bangkok: "Pipat" expresses confidence in Bhumjaithai's potential political dominance in 14 southern provinces following the upcoming election. Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, the Southern regional commander of the Bhumjaithai Party, highlighted the party's readiness and strategic positioning in the region.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pipat outlined three conditions for forming a government, which would not exclude a coalition with the Pheu Thai Party. In light of reports regarding Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva's openness to forming a government with the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Pipat acknowledged that political parties have the autonomy to decide their strategic directions, especially when there is a change in leadership, signaling potential new approaches.
Mr. Pipat emphasized the importance of forming coalition governments in the political landscape, stating this as his personal opinion. He remarked on the historical rarity of alliances between the blue and red factions, noting past criticisms when such coalitions were attempted. However, he suggested that forming such alliances again could introduce a new political dimension.
Reflecting on previous statements regarding political alliances, Mr. Pipat questioned whether past rhetoric still holds weight. He speculated that a coalition between current leaders of the blue and red parties might not fully satisfy Southern constituents, yet acknowledged their right to their political choices.
Mr. Pipat reaffirmed Bhumjaithai's preparedness in the southern region, expressing confidence based on interactions with the public and the party's strong performance in the 2023 election. He believes that the people in the 14 southern provinces are poised to support Bhumjaithai as their primary political choice.
