Baku:Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, addressed the opposition's no-confidence motion, emphasizing his readiness to explain his actions and urging the opposition to base their accusations on factual information.
According to Thai News Agency, Pipat noted that the opposition's decision to target only two out of four ministers in their motion suggests a lack of consensus on the ministry as a whole. He regards this as an indication that the opposition does not uniformly disapprove of the entire ministry. Pipat, along with Deputy Minister of Transport Siripong Angkasakulkiat, is prepared to respond to the debate.
Pipat acknowledged the allegations of fraudulent behavior and negligence leading to corruption against him. He expressed confidence in his ability to clarify his administration's actions under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. However, he remarked that any unrelated issues involving others would require further examination of the accusations' specifics.
Despite uncertainties about the specific issues the opposition intends to scrutinize, Pipat affirmed his preparedness to provide clarifications, particularly given the Ministry of Transport's significant annual budget of approximately 100 billion baht. He reiterated his call for the opposition to rely on facts, cautioning against the use of falsehoods in their accusations.
