Ple Naphat Defends Her Father, Deh Dok Sadao, Against Allegations and Legal Challenges

Bangkok: Ple Naphat, daughter of the late comedian Deh Dok Sadao, has publicly refuted claims made by Pu Kanokwan about her father's alleged second marriage, while also addressing her father's health issues and legal matters. In a press conference held with her lawyer, Chitapong Phutthi, Ple vowed to protect her father's honor and pursue legal action against defamatory remarks.

According to Thai News Agency, Ple addressed the circumstances surrounding her father's illness, explaining the decisions she had to make alone for his treatment. Deh Dok Sadao, currently bedridden and unable to communicate due to a tracheostomy, first fell ill in March. Ple recounted how she managed his healthcare and sought assistance from fellow comedians and a rehabilitation center.

Ple also tackled rumors about a supposed "two-world" relationship involving her father, asserting that he never remarried after divorcing her mother in 1987. She clarified misunderstandings about Khun Kwan, a woman alleged to be Deh's second wife, stating that she only met her during her father's hospitalization.

Further, Ple discussed the financial aspects related to her father's care and the alleged joint ventures with Pu Kanokwan, emphasizing her focus on her father's health rather than any inheritance or assets. Ple dismissed claims of interference in her father's business, reiterating that she only assisted occasionally and never sought to control his wealth.

Attorney Chitapong elaborated on the legal steps Ple is taking, including applying for legal guardianship over her father and addressing false narratives on social media. He outlined the rights to property and joint income, explaining that despite the lack of a legal marriage, assets acquired during Deh's cohabitation with Pu Kanokwan could be considered joint property.

Chitapong assured that their primary concern is Deh's well-being, and they are not seeking to divide assets at this time. He also addressed defamation suits against netizens spreading false information, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Deh's reputation and protecting Ple's mental health.

Lastly, the attorney confirmed that there was no marriage registration after 1987, contradicting claims of bigamy. While Ple has not sued Pu Kanokwan, the focus remains on clarifying the truth and ensuring Deh Dok Sadao receives his rightful entitlements without unnecessary legal disputes.
