PMN Landmines Discovered in Ban Nong Ya Kaeo Area

Aranyaprathet: The First Army Area, through the First Army Area Operations Center, received a report from the Burapha Task Force that a landmine had been discovered in the operational area of Ban Nong Ya Kaeo. The Aranyaprathet Task Force’s bomb search team discovered three PMN anti-personnel mines, believed to be stationary, in the area reclaimed from Cambodia by the Thai side.

According to Thai News Agency, Thailand has made repeated attempts to clear the minefields, but has never received cooperation from Cambodia. It is suspected that anti-personnel mines may be left in the area. The First Army Region is requesting the cooperation of local residents, the general public, and the media to refrain from entering the area, so that officials can conduct further investigations and search for any suspected explosive devices.

The Army has confirmed that all areas under Thai sovereignty will be safe.
